Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female signing for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able getting noticed. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The album was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded music online in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and debut mixtape in 2013, Five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album, which was released on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew at that time was interested in having her work on Rihanna reference. The news was released on the 8th of December she signed with Dreamville Records. The singer appeared on the collaborative album Revenge of the Dreamers II featuring the track Backseat Cozz. The 21st of October, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released under the name Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. In 2018, she appeared in two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox, on the 16th July, 2018 was the first artist to release her single "Whipped Cream" from Shea Butter Baby. A music video was also released on September 5th. On November 9 she dropped two more singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then released two more singles called The No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 to accompany the album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby performed along with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on November 16. A music video debuted on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within the first period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
